And the man sang the blues
but he turned ‘em into light
Rainbow colors
shinin’ though the city blight
Bringin’ people together
was his name
So they came from all over
in the cold pouring rain
Man and woman
Black ‘n white and in between
They sang from their guts
In a glorious scene
Woe are the differences
that separate the masses
He reminded us of Unity
The illusion of classes
And it was good
Amen

We are One
Part of a whole
There is no other path
toward peace, love, and prosperity
than through love, and coming together
Music is our tool
But our humanity is our greatest vehicle
Bless everyone who participated in this project
Bless all people and all living things
Bless the universe
And kick-ass job Drew!
Best,
David

When the people hear it
They will rejoice and congregate, inspired
Once the people feel it
They will be clad, in a melting pot
Of uplifting attire
They will ascend, to a plane
Present, living, openly resplendent
In a dimension higher, than past lives
They will say, “the devil is a liar”
For, Motown Is Still Our Town
The sights, the sounds, the sports, the chow
All the beauty that can be found
Motown is Still Our Town
The essence, is from the soul of it’s people
And it’s multifaceted treasures, will soar
Through open doors, together
With melodic wind beneath their wings
With harmony, palpitating in their beings
Building dreams from liberal philosophies
Perched, astute, to seize further opportunities
For the good of one race, that being, humanity
Bearing witness to unity, and sincerity
Motown Is still Our Town
The pulse is unstoppable
The spirit of Detroit, insurmountable
Motown Is Still Our Town
We shall not let it down…
